Memory Optimised instances
with up to 960GB of RAM

Krystal Cloud Memory Optimised instances give you up to 960GB of RAM, with a higher ratio of memory to vCPUs for memory-intensive workloads. These high memory cloud instances suit large databases, caching layers and real-time analytics that need their working set in memory. Deploy in under 60 seconds, pay by the second and resize whenever your dataset grows.

What Memory Optimised instances are built for

These instances give you more RAM per vCPU than a comparable CPU Optimised package. They suit workloads where the limit is how much data you can hold in memory, rather than how fast you can process it.

Packages start at 2 vCPUs with 20GB RAM and scale to 960GB RAM on a single instance. GPU add-ons are available on any size, and you can resize at any time as your working set grows.

What that extra memory makes possible

When your working set fits in RAM, queries return faster and you spend less time waiting on disk. A high memory instance keeps large datasets resident. A database holds its indexes and hot data in memory and answers more requests per second, a cache like Redis or Memcached holds more keys before it starts evicting, and analytics that scan large datasets run without spilling to disk.

What you can run on a high memory instance

In-memory caches

Run Redis or Memcached with enough headroom to keep your full working set resident. More memory means more cached data and fewer trips to the database behind it.

Larger relational databases

Host PostgreSQL or MySQL where buffer pools and indexes need room to stay in memory. Useful for read-heavy applications and reporting databases that would otherwise hit disk.

Real-time analytics and streaming

Aggregate and query streaming data in memory, where latency comes from disk access rather than raw compute.

In-memory data processing

Run large pandas or Spark jobs that need to hold a dataset in memory to avoid repeated reads from storage.

Memory Optimised or CPU Optimised?

Choose Memory Optimised when your workload is limited by how much data you can keep in RAM. Like in-memory caches, large databases, or real-time analytics. Choose CPU Optimised when it’s limited by processing throughput. Like data crunching, builds, encoding and high-traffic APIs. You can switch between them at any time, so you're not locked to your first choice.

In-memory caches

Every Memory Optimised instance runs on the same platform as the rest of Krystal Cloud. This includes self-healing Block Storage with three copies of your data, automatic failover to a healthy node if hardware fails, and DDoS mitigation included on every instance. Each instance includes 1TB of external transfer, pooled across your organisation, and inbound transfer is free.
