We’re looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to join our Infrastructure team, working at a 3rd line level to support and enhance our Linux-based hosting environment.
You’ll play a key role in keeping our hosting fleet stable, secure, and performing well, while helping to improve how we manage and operate our systems.
Key Responsibilities include:
Managing and maintaining Linux servers in a production hosting environment
Supporting and troubleshooting LAMP stack services (Apache, MySQL/MariaDB, PHP)
Performing routine maintenance, patching, and system updates
Monitoring systems and responding to alerts and incidents
Acting as a 3rd line escalation point for the Support team
Investigating root causes and implementing long-term fixes
Using automation and scripting to improve efficiency and consistency
Contribute to knowledge base articles, runbooks, and operational documentation.
Other Requirements:
Based in the UK with the right to work.
Participation in on-call rotations
Essential requirements
- Strong experience as a Linux Systems Administrator in a hosting environment
- Confident operating at a 3rd line / senior technical level
- Solid, hands-on experience with the LAMP stack (essential)
- Experience with cPanel/WHM
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working with monitoring tools and alerting systems, such as Prometheus/Grafana
Highly desirable experience
- Exposure to automation or configuration management tools, such as Terraform and Ansible
- Scripting/automation experience (Bash, Python).
