We’re delighted to announce the launch of another brand-new Katapult location in the USA, this time in Phoenix, Arizona! Head to the portal at my.katapult.io to spin up a VM in seconds (incl. £100 free credit).

Designed and developed entirely by Krystal in the UK, Katapult is our master-crafted, ultra-fast, all-NVMe self-service public cloud. Built from the ground up using only the best components, it provides an unparalleled public cloud experience for hosting websites and applications. Our expansion of Katapult into Phoenix means we now offer the world’s fastest virtual infrastructure service across the breadth of the United States and on two continents (with more locations coming soon!).

With this second international launch, our clients now have multiple US locations from which to create their virtual machines. They can set up Katapult services in the Southwestern United States as well as on the East Coast to further optimise their infrastructure for maximum performance.

“Phoenix is an excellent site for cloud infrastructure. It's one of the fastest growing metro areas in the US with low latency and fast connections to both the West Coast and Midwest. Having spent a lot of time in Phoenix over the years I'm delighted that Katapult's now here, it feels like somewhat of a homecoming.” - Simon Blackler, CEO

AZP-1, a world-class data centre

As with all things Krystal, we’ve insisted on only best-in-class hardware and cutting-edge security for Katapult (hence “master-crafted”), and have committed to using only renewable energy. To preserve these standards, we’ve once again chosen Iron Mountain (the same world-class data centre provider we chose for our initial US launch location in NY), from which to expand our US presence.

Our chosen facility is AZP-1, part of the acclaimed 30-acre Iron Mountain Hyperscale-Ready campus. A 588,669 SF/41 MW purpose-built data centre with federal-grade security, AZP-1 is Uptime Tier III-certified for outstanding reliability, which means, among other things, that it requires no shutdowns when equipment needs maintenance or replacement.

AZP-1 is also powered by 100% renewable energy and has a 1.2 PUE efficiency rating, making it a perfect fit with our Green Ethos.

Secure location

AZP-1 is located 10 minutes east of downtown Phoenix, one of the lowest-risk US metros for natural disasters. This location also makes it perfect for quick access to US markets on the West Coast and Midwest regions.

Our presence at Iron Mountain Phoenix also means that in the near future we’ll be able to provide further Krystal and Onyx (managed WordPress) services out of this region.

Enhancing and expanding excellence

Every aspect of Katapult is best-in-class. Bleeding-edge AMD 2nd Gen EPYC CPUs, 100% NVMe all-flash storage, triple-copy redundancy and enterprise-grade hardware throughout. This new location in Phoenix expands and enhances Katapult’s world-class capabilities and further establishes Krystal’s reputation for excellence on the world stage.

For more information about our US facilities, or to have a chat about how Katapult can help your business succeed, drop into our slack community at https://slack.katapult.io or contact us directly at team@katapult.io. We’d love to hear from you.
